CUSTOM ORTHOTICS

At Eastridge Chiropractic Co., we always look at the whole body to ensure we are treating the root cause of every problem. Often times, back pain, hip pain, knee pain and even pelvic floor pain can be traced back to the foundation we stand on, our feet.

Our feet are complex, and made up of 26 bones each. The foot changes shape completely throughout the gait cycle, and it must move properly in order to absorb and transmit force.

Custom built orthotics support the 3 arches of your foot, and encourage proper movement and transmittance of force as you walk run, and do the sports and activities you love. Used along with foot and arch strengthening exercises, we are able to help correct issues such as overpronation or supination, which can lead to various foot problems such as plantar fasciitis, shin splints and other foot-related injuries.

At Eastridge we use local company, Mojo Feet, for our custom orthotics. A foam mold is used to get an impression of your foot, and a customized choice of size and high quality materials is made based on the intended shoes and activity level for these orthotics. After 1-2 weeks of wearing your custom orthotics, your feet become accustomed, and then they feel natural and comfortable in your shoes. The orthotics can easily be moved between shoes, and often last 1-3 years depending on use.

Over the counter arch supports are helpful, however orthotics designed specific to your feet, health condition and activity level will best reduce unnecessary stress and strain on your joints.
